Mr. Shetter has been in the senior housing and health care industry for more than 30 years. He is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the day-to-day operation of ActivCare’s residential memory care communities, managing personnel, and overseeing resident care needs. He is a licensed Nursing Home and Residential Care Facility Administrator. Mr. Shetter serves on the California Health and Human Services Alzheimer’s Advisory Committee which represents consumers, providers, and advocates of those living with Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders. An active advocate for senior housing and assisted living in California, he serves on the Executive Board of Directors for the California Assisted Living Association (CALA). He is a past recipient of the Advocate of the Year Award from CALA. Mr. Shetter currently serves on the Community Advisory Board for the UCSD Institute of Healthy Aging and is a past member of the County of San Diego’s Alzheimer’s Project Care Roundtable. Previously, he also served on the Governor’s Task Force on Alzheimer’s (Disease) Prevention and Preparedness headed by Maria Shriver. The task force provided recommendations to the Governor on how the state can prepare for the anticipated rise in the number of families affected by the disease. He graduated from Colorado State University with degrees in Public Relations and Sociology.
