ActivCare Living, Inc. is proud to announce that its Chief Operating Officer, Todd A. Shetter, has been appointed to the Governor’s Task Force on Alzheimer’s (Disease) Prevention and Preparedness chaired by Maria Shriver. The purpose of the esteemed task force is to help provide information and present recommendations to Gov. Gavin Newsom on how private organizations, businesses, governments and families can work to prevent and be prepared for the rising number of cases of Alzheimer’s disease and its effects. The team will rigorously work together towards their common goals of navigating a path forward to combat this disease in the face of such a pivotal period in our history. The first meeting is scheduled for November 19, 2019.
“As a member of this esteemed task force, I look forward to providing counsel and contributing toward proactive solutions for families facing this devastating disease,” stated Mr. Shetter. “It is important to address inaction caused by guilt and denial and get those affected by Alzheimer’s and their families the resources and information they need.”
Mr. Shetter has been a long-time advocate of families affected by Alzheimer’s. He is currently serving on the California Health and Human Services Alzheimer’s Advisory Committee. He is also a partner in ActivCare Living, Inc., an owner and operator of residential memory care communities in Southern California. As Memory Care experts,
ActivCare has encountered the many challenges that families face. With his first-hand experience of more than 30 years, Mr. Shetter will provide valuable input to the Governor’s Task Force to find solutions to improve awareness, education, and systems of care for those with dementia.
